Enhancing the Classroom Experience

In 2010, the Foundation provided iPod Touch technology to the 1st grade classes at Shades Cahaba. According to Betsy Crimi, one of the 1st grade teachers, the technology has had a profound impact in the classroom.

“The technology that the Foundation provided for us is changing both the way our kids learn and the way we teach,” Crimi said. “Our children are so engaged with the technology. It’s powerful motivation, but the many applications help our children grasp concepts as well.

“We use the iPods in a variety of ways. It’s incredible to see the excitement our children have when they use the technology. Most of the time they don’t even think of it as learning.”

The Foundation is a private, non-profit organization that raises money to enhance the classroom experience for children in all five Homewood Schools. There are multiple ways to donate to the Foundation. Either through PayPal
